First things first - all of our artwork is handmade, by real craftsmans, in the traditional way. We only do the real thing – genuine leaf paintings, by real living, breathing, hardworking, talented and experienced artists (forgive us for going on so much, but we’re rather proud of them!)

*PREPARING MATERIAL

I – Collecting and choosing:

Dry leaves are collected from all around the country of Vietnam. Choosing process must be carried out really careful to select the leaves are suitable, undamaged, standard types of leaves, color,etc…

II –Washing:

Washing is extremely gentle, careful and double process to make sure no one any dust on the leaves to avoid influence to the color of the leaves in next processing.

III – Boiling:

To ensure high durability, endurable and stable color should be considered here is the most important in the treament series.

This process can last from 2 to 3 days, even 1 week depends on the type of leaves.

This process must be closely supervised for temperature, time, amount of stability, etc. ... by veteran artists.

Many times through experiment and research characteristics of each type of leaves is to find out measures to handle manually matched, the artists of Vietnamese Leaf Paintings Co. Ltd are successful in creating and retaining many colors of completely natural dried leaves or actively creating different colors as art ideas by boilling process without using any type of dyes.

IV – Exposing to the sun

After finished boiling process, the leaves are exposed to just below high noon with apropriated time to not cause affect  the color of leaves.

After this process, leaves become flexible, strong and can not be losed color when soaking.

To be able to create paintings with natural  lively colors, leaves will  be died.

Creating strange and unique color is the secret of the individual veteran  artists of Vietnamese Leaf Paintings Co. Ltd.

I – Outline

Our craftsmans (our artists) outline the main detail of the leaf painting in pencil. Some of our artists prefer to sketch out the outline of the painting, and others use a grid system or special tool to ensure the dimensions and spacing of the reproduction are going to be accurate. This outline will be the template for the leaf painting to follow.

II – Making Leaf Painting:

A leaf painting is the perfect art-work of thousands and thousands small pieces, testing patience and requiring a carefulness in detail of the artists.

This stage is also the occasion for the artist to express the artistic eye, the feel, the creativity of their own by choosing the appropriated colors.

Therefore, with the same content and draft, but each artist, each creating times

gives a different and unique leaf painting.

This has created one of the unique features only available in leaf painting.

Art lovers can be sure that  when they hang a leaf painting in their home, this leaf painting is unique.

III – Completting:

The leaf painting is completed, and the quality is checked by the master craftsman.
